The Shape of Our Days
Reconnect with Your Creativity
A Winter Art Retreat | 3 Days of Immersion, Inspiration & Gentle Discovery
Step into a beautiful country house and slow the rhythm of your days. This is your invitation to pause, play, and reconnect—with your creativity,
the natural world, and like-minded others.
Day 1: Opening & Arrival (from 1.45)
Ease into retreat life with tea, homemade treats, and a warm welcome in the library. We’ll orientate gently, explore the studio, and begin a relaxed afternoon of creative play. You’ll embellish a personal apron, explore mark-making with dry media and ink, and begin your personal creative journey. There’s no pressure—just space to settle in, explore materials, and discover what calls you.
Evening brings fireside drinks, shared stories, and an informal art book circle—time to flick through inspiring pages or sketch quietly by the fire, or think your own thoughts.
Day 2: Immersion & Connection
We’ll begin with a nourishing breakfast and a gentle woodland walk, gathering seasonal textures and fragments as inspiration (or simply soaking in the winter stillness). Back in the studio, we’ll explore vignettes, intuitive mark-making, printing, and collage—your own responses through your chosen materials.
A collaborative art project invites you to co-create a large-scale piece and select a section to take home—a beautiful reminder of the shared experience. (optional)
Expect moments of connection, laughter, focus, and flow. There’s always space for solo exploration, and the studio is filled with curated materials, fabrics, and threads for layered expression.
Evening winds down with slow stitching a detail into one of your pages or journaling in the library—quiet time to reflect and absorb.
Day 3: Integration & Reflection
The final day is for gently gathering the threads of your experience. You’ll assemble a unique “play book”—a deconstructed artist’s book, folio, or concertina that captures your retreat journey. We’ll create tiny folded books or tags for reflections, mount a piece of your work, and share a moment of quiet celebration in our closing circle.
You’ll leave with new ideas and a deeper connection to your creative self—alongside handmade visual reflections that hold the energy of the retreat. These small, meaningful pieces act as gentle prompts, sparking future explorations and creative beginnings.
Departure 3pm.
